Charleston Water System

Charleston Water System is a stand-alone municipal entity providing water and wastewater services to more than 500,000 people in the greater Charleston area. A Board of elected Commissioners oversees the utility, which employs some 450 people. Implementation of an Environmental Management System has earned the utility certification under ISO 14001, and CWS is widely recognized for its superior water and wastewater treatment operations.
