Beautiful Berkeley Sees Tourism Uptick

Cypress Gardens is a favorite Berkeley County attraction.

Visitors are discovering the charms of Berkeley County, and helping to drive overnight stays ever-higher. The Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce reported recently that tourism receipts are up 6% for the year.

Chamber CEO Elaine Morgan credits a new  tourism website for the county has significantly helped the chamber’s tourism marketing efforts. Morgan also said the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce continued to spend money on media buys and memberships in trade associations to keep the region’s name in front of people. She said the chamber plans to continue that strategy.

Good news is radiating statewide, according to recent SCPRT statistics that showed a 14% increase in visitation, statewide, over last year.
