Local ukulele player and finalist in the Folgers jingle contest, Amanda Lowers, will travel to New York City on June 3 to compete for $25,000 and to have her song featured in a new Folger’s coffee commercial.

The “Best Part of Wakin’ Up” finalists will perform their jingles (yes, I didn’t realize jingle contests were still around these days either) in front of a panel of judges, including ”American Idol” judge Kara DioGuardi.
