Charleston Green Fair Events & Film Contest Call For Entries

The Charleston Green Fair’s second annual event will begin next week with several new events. The main event will be in Marion Square on Sunday, September 26, and several new events will take place around town. Here’s the run down of the events:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 22- Sustainable Seafood Initiative Dinner (sold out)
  • Friday, Sept. 25 (starts at 7:30 a.m.)- Green Business Expo at the Francis Marion Hotel (corner of Calhoun and King Streets)
  • Saturday, Sept. 26 (7:30 p.m.)- Greenflix will screen Botany of Desire, the film-adaption of Michael Pollan’s book by the same name, at the Bus Shed (located behind the Visitors Center, between John and Ann Streets). The Greenflix 60 second film contest finalists will also be screened here (see below).
  • Sunday, Sept. 27 (noon to 6 p.m)- Green Fair at Marion Square, where over 100 exhibitors will be showcasing green products and services. Local food, beer/wine and entertainment will be present. A kids area, art walk, nonprofit tent, recycling education tent and a sustainable seafood cooking contest will round out the event. Click here for details on all of the exhibitors and activities.

The Charleston GreenFlix 60 Second Film Contest is seeking videos featuring the subject: man’s relationship with nature.  The top three films will be screened at the Green Fair Film Festival and the winner will be announced at the conclusion of our main feature, based on audience applause.
