Coastal Living Idea Cottage Tours

Coastal Living Magazine selected Charleston to build their 2009 “Idea Cottage.” This 2,300 square-foot, two-story house is located in The I’on Village. Coastal Living built its very first idea cottage in the village 10 years ago. The public can purchase tickets to tour the home until October.

Charleston City PaperCharleston City Paper attended the opening party and remarked, “With its open floorplan and abundant outdoor living space, the house has a distinctly Caribbean feel, with great details throughout from local artists like Sally King Benedict and Molly B. Right, who created an amazing portrait out of bottlecaps. My personal favorite features of the cottage include the inviting reading nook off the library and the sea glass-like tile in the bathrooms, but all of the guests seemed to be oohing and ahhing over their own favorites.”

The house is open for tours until Sunday, October 11. Tours are available Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 and a portion of proceeds will benefit East Cooper Habitat for Humanity and East Cooper Montessori Charter School. Click here to purhase tickets.
