Today marks the fourth annual CreateAthon, “a 24-hour work-around-the-clock effort” that provides five nonprofits with free advertising and marketing services. This idea was created by Riggs Partners in Columbia, SC in 1998, and since then 73 agencies donate their time and skill to this yearly charitable effort at the end of September.

Locally, Trio Solutions Inc. of Mt. Pleasant will produce between five and 10 projects for five selected Lowcountry organizations, which can be valued up to $20,000. Out of countless 501(c)3 applicants, this years’ projects recipients will be: Berkeley County Family YMCA, Chamber Music Charleston, East Cooper Meals on Wheels, Friendship Medical Clinic and Pharmacy and The Belle W. Baruch Foundation.

According to the Createathon website, “This effort has benefited more than 1,100 nonprofit organizations with 2,500 projects valued at more than $11 million.” There’s even a Creathathon on Campus course now too!
