They’re small businesses now, but they might not be for long.
Lowcountry firms landed 23 spots on Inc. magazine’s annual list of the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in America, recognizing local businesses ranging from the growth-focused technology sector to the region’s booming construction trade.
They did so with sales growth over the past three years that in many cases doubled, tripled or even grew tenfold. All together, they brought in sales of more than $300 million last year — money that wasn’t flowing into the area just a few years ago.
