CTS International, the Seattle-based recruiting firm that will soon hire hundreds of employees in support of Boeing’s new 787 Dreamliner plant, will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at its North Charleston branch later this month.

The contracting company currently makes hires for Boeing’s commercial programs such as the 747, 777 and 787 operations in the Seattle area, as well as for other defense and aerospace companies.

CTS President Steve Dworkin “There will be an explosion of jobs and opportunities in the Charleston area because of the 787 program,” said CTS President Steve Dworkin.

CTS opened its Charleston area office on March 8. It is one of nine agencies that Boeing uses to staff positions, CTS spokesperson Sarah Gilden said.

CTS does a majority of its business through its Web site, offering job seekers a chance to post resumes and fill out a skills profile for free. That information is loaded into a database and when job orders come in from clients such as Boeing, CTS matches the positions to information people have put into the system.

CTS is already ramping up recruiting efforts for engineering, maintenance, assembly and scheduling jobs at the Dreamliner plant, the company said.

The CTS Charleston office will work in fields such as health care, defense, telecommunications and IT markets, in addition to its relationship with Boeing. CTS also lists Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. in Savannah as one of its clients.

Gilden stressed that CTS is not a temp staffing agency, but a long-term employment firm that places highly trained independent contractors in appropriate positions.

The open house and ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 22 at the company’s Charleston office located at 4130 Faber Place Drive, Suite 101, in North Charleston.
