By Dan McCue Force Dynamics, the joint venture between Force Protection and General Dynamics Land Systems, will perform the work at the Mine Resistant Ambushed Protected Vehicles University at Red River Army Depot in Texarkana, Texas. The project is scheduled for completion by November 2008. “Critical to the optimal performance of our vehicles is the support they receive in the field,” said Force Protection President Michael Moody in a written statement. “We have worked continually to ensure that our logistics, maintenance and training support network grows in parallel with our record-breaking vehicle production and delivery. This contract underscores the importance of these sustainment efforts.” In other developments, Force Protection has signed an agreement with the South African government to use that country’s technology in building Cougar and Buffalo vehicles for the American military. In an agreement finalized Nov. 5, Force Protection will pay the Republic of South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research $750 for every Cougar and $3,000 for every Buffalo the company builds. |
