Hagemeyer North America (HNA) proudly announces that its Charleston, South Carolina, site supporting the aerospace segment successfully achieved AS9120 Aerospace Quality Management Certification. The stocking site, which was also awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification, was audited in late September by QMI-SAI Global.

“The Hagemeyer North America site in Charleston was well organized and prepared,” said Janine Johnson of QMI-SAI Global, “and was awarded a high final score for its AS9120 Aerospace Quality Management Certification.”

The certification demonstrates Hagemeyer North America’s commitment to the aerospace market. It authorizes HNA to stock local inventory of critical items required in the industry. For HNA aerospace customers the certification means just-in-time supply of materials, reducing necessary inventories, lead times, and overall costs.

“This is a major milestone for our business,” says HNA Market Manager Matt Kiefer. “This certification further positions Hagemeyer North America as the leader in the supply of materials for the growing Aerospace industry in the Carolinas.”

The “AS9120 Quality Management Systems, Aerospace Requirements for Stocklist Distributors” certification was developed for pass-through distributors of aerospace commodity items. This standard addresses chain of custody, traceability, control and availability of records. Based on ISO 9001:2000, but with nearly 100 additional requirements specific to aerospace distributors, AS9120 provides suppliers of certified distributors with a comprehensive quality system focused on areas directly impacting product safety and reliability.
