Mount Pleasant-based digital media firm American Media Services Interactive has launched a new product that helps retailers customize marketing announcements to be played in their stores.

The product, called Storecasting, allows retailers or other users to broadcast internal marketing messages and revenue-generating messages from outside companies. Messages can be combined with music content chosen to match the company’s atmosphere.

Content for Storecasting is delivered via IP through the customer’s Internet connection and a proprietary Internet receiver provided by American Media Services Interactive.

“Knowing that 75% of buying decisions are made once a shopper is in the store, the need to engage customers, alert them to new products, special offers and imprint and brand a unique shopping experience has never been more relevant,” said company President Charles Andrew Whatley.

American Media Services Interactive, launched by the founders of American Media Services LLC, offers solutions for emerging media, engagement strategies for audio and video streaming, customized and branded music channels, high-definition radio formats, content management systems, custom application development, and Web site programming and design.
