National organizations recognize Roper St. Francis Healthcare

Roper St. Francis Healthcare received recognition from the Commission on Cancer, Thomson Reuters and Becker’s Hospital Review for its cancer care, Neuro-Spine Center and other services, the company announced Tuesday.

The Commission on Cancer released its 2011 Accredited Cancer Program Performance Report and gave Roper St. Francis its top ratings for categories of research, community outreach, leadership and quality improvements.

Thomson Reuters released its list of top hospitals, including Roper St. Francis along with 21 small health systems. Roper St. Francis was the only Lowcountry hospital to be recognized. Ratings are based on data from patient surveys and other metrics.

Becker’s Health included the Neuro-Spine Center in its list of 101 Hospitals with Great Neuro-Spine Programs. Becker’s also recognized Roper St. Francis as one of 61 Integrated Health Systems to Know based on the organization’s access to care, physician alignment and inclusion of several services of care. Becker’s, a health care analytics company and peer institution, evaluated the health systems on the list.
