SCWTC, SCSU to develop $400 million research center

South Carolina State University will work in conjunction with the South Carolina World Trade Center for the development of a World Trade Park and Education Research Center. SC Film Commission introduces New film production fund

The South Carolina Film Commission announced today the introduction of its new South Carolina Film Production Fund, a fund created to develop collaborative projects in film, video and multimedia between professionals in the motion picture and related industries and institutions of higher learning in South Carolina. Force Protection secures another military contract

Force Protection Inc. announced a U.S. Army contract for up to $5 million for authorized supply stock used to service its Buffalo route clearance vehicle. Promising anti-scarring gel could prove boon to MUSC

Researchers at the Medical University of South Carolina are developing a treatment they hope will speed the healing process and reduce scar tissue. First String Research — the company formed by those reserachers — was introduced by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce when they announced the FastTrac Entrepreneurial Traning Program, which will train MUSC students, faculty, staff and researchers in launching biotech businesses.
