Revolutions Medical Corp. has completed a merger with Clear Image Inc. Both companies are based in Mount Pleasant.

The merger gives Revolutions Medical 100% ownership of Clear Image’s proprietary technological assets. It also allows Revolutions Medical to move ahead with the development and delivery of the platform for its MRI software technologies, the company said in a statement.

Revolutions MRI software will be adaptable to current picture archival computer systems and will allow MRIs to be viewed in color and 3-D. The company said this could boost the reliability of the MRIs and radiologists’ confidence in them.

“We are pleased to have the merger of Clear Image into our operations completed,” Revolutions Medical CEO Ron Wheet said. “This will clear the way for the validation of the automatic segmentation and 3-D/color MRI technologies over the coming months. These important technologies have the potential to give Rev Med a tremendous advantage in the marketplace.”

“This merger with Revolutions Medical Corp. represents the culmination of a number of years of R&D and millions of dollars invested to date,” Clear Image President Tom O’Brien said.

Revolutions Medical Corp. develops and distributes safety-engineered tools and devices and software to the medical industry.

The market for safety-engineered medical devices is projected to exceed $2 billion worldwide this year and is forecast to maintain a 20% annual growth rate in the near term.
