Cane Bay Plantation in Berkeley County posted red hot home sales last year. Sales were so high the mixed-use development landed on a national list of top-selling, master-planned communities in the U.S.

Last year, sales jumped 35.1 percent, rising from 385 in 2014 to 520 in 2015, according to Ben Gramling, president of Gramling Brothers Real Estate & Development, which is developing the 4,500-acre site.

The “phenomenal” sales, as Gramling put it, propelled the development to No. 9 on a list of top-selling, master-planned communities in the nation. The list is compiled by Bethesda, Md.-based real estate consultant firm RCLCO, originally founded as Robert Charles Lesser & Co.
