Supplement maker moving HQ to Charleston area from Idaho

A growing maker of nutritional supplements is relocating its corporate headquarters and the rest of its business operations to Summerville in a deal that’s being hailed as a major coup for the region’s life-sciences industry.

Thorne Research plans to complete its cross-country move to the South Carolina coast from northern tip of Idaho by late 2018, Tom McKenna, chief operating officer, said in a statement.

The company is expected to bring several hundred research, manufacturing, distribution and support jobs to its future home in Berkeley County.
