Acting regionally, thinking globally. Investing in vocational education and infrastructure. These are among the things geostrategist and author Parag Khanna recently congratulated this three-county region for doing well.
Khanna, once named by Esquire magazine as one of the century’s 75 most influential thinkers, was in town for the second time (the first was his honeymoon) to share insights with guests of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance. The upshot: the world economy is vastly changed since even a decade ago. Gone are singular superpowers, and in their place remain super-regions. Khanna’s remarks were reported by the Charleston Regional Business Journal.
