Engine testing
Diesel-engine manufacturer Cummins Inc. notified the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce that it will permanently close its 72-worker engine testing location at 4500 Leeds Ave. in North Charleston between July 31, 2024. No specific reason was cited. The company's other two local manufacturing plants, which employ nearly 1,000 workers, will remain in operation.
