Charleston’s annual Tech Summit, DIG SOUTH launches today

April 24, 2019

The seventh annual DIG SOUTH Tech Summit kicks off today in downtown Charleston. Founded as “the south’s tech summit” by entrepreneur, Stanfield Gray, (named one of “31 People Changing the South” by Time), DIG SOUTH has simultaneously built connections among founders, tech executives, investors, global brand pioneers, and influential marketing & media thought leaders from across the southeast, while also showcasing Charleston’s growing tech and startup scene.

This year’s conference theme is “What’s your story?” and features over 80 speakers, including NYT bestselling author Greg McKeown; Marc Gorlin, co-founder of Kabbage and CEO of Roadie; Jason Williamson of Oracle; Burunda Price, Managing Director of Comcast NBC Universals’ The Farm innovation hub; and serial entrepreneur and local CEO Marc Murphy of Atlatl.

So, what’s Charleston’s tech story? Now home to 500+ tech firms, ranked 5th nationally in High Tech GDP Growth by Milken Institute in 2018, and called the ‘4th biggest boomtown’ by Magnify Money for the influx of business growth, work opportunities and talent, Charleston’s tech story is coming into focus, and promises a bright future indeed.
