Chef Sean Brock of McCrady’s Wins James Beard Award

For the last three years, Charleston chefs have won the “Best Chef Southest” James Beard Award. If anyone had their doubts about Charleston being a foodie city before, this should firmly cement that Charleston is a culinary destination that can compete with the big cities and hold our own!

Chef Sean Brock of McCrady’s took home the award for “Best Chef Southeast,” following in the footsteps of Mike Lata of FIG (2009 winner) and Robert Stehling (2008 winner). Brock was previously nominated for the “Best Rising Star Chef” Award in 2008 and 2009. Click here for the full list of 2010 James Beard winners.

Brock is EVERYWHERE right now. He’s opening another restaurant downtown, winning the title of “Prince of Porc” and he’s even getting a new breed of pig named after him (Brockawattabaw)!
