Four Regional Manufacturers Make Silver Crescent Finals

Sweet success has already come to Rina’s Kitchen in Summerville, a maker of jams, jellies and smiles amongst loyal farmers market customers. And now the local purveyor is in the running for the Silver Crescent award, a coveted prize bestowed annually by the Silver Crescent Foundation, which is an advocate for the power of manufacturing. Rina’s is a finalist in the small manufacturer category, as is SKF of North Charleston. Meanwhile, both Cummins Turbo and Robert Bosch are in the running in the large manufacturer category. According to the recent Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Market Facts supplement, Bosch currently employs 1,475 people locally, and Cummins Turbo has a local payroll of 700. The awards will be given September 22 in Greenville.
