Charleston was recently named the fourth best mid-sized city for entrepreneurs by Dun & Bradstreet and Entrepreneur magazine. This is the second consecutive year the Charleston area has been ranked in the top five.

The ranking, which is based on four criteria – entrepreneurial activity, small-business growth, economic growth and risk (lowest business failure rate) is evidence that smaller, more “down-to-earth, well-within reach cities” provide similar opportunities and success for entrepreneurs and small business that larger cities do.

Other Cities Ranked Within the Top Five Include:

Wilmington/Newark, DE/MD
Tacoma, WA
Louisville, KY/IN
Pensacola, FL
