Imports up 16% at SC Ports Authority

The country’s continued clamor for retail goods has driven record cargo levels for the S.C. Ports Authority for the 13th consecutive month, with imports up 16% year-over-year in March.

S.C. Ports handled 264,334 twenty-foot equivalent container units, or TEUs, at Wando Welch TerminalNorth Charleston Terminal and Hugh K. Leatherman Terminal in March, a 6% increase from last year. For fiscal year 2022, S.C. Ports has moved 2.14 million TEUs so far, up 15% from this time last year.
