Wonderlic, Inc., a recognized leader in the development of recruiting, assessment and retention solutions, as well as consulting services, is pleased to announce the selection of Charleston, South Carolina, for its company expansion. Headquartered in Libertyville, Illinois, the 72-year-old company has helped more than 50,000 organizations worldwide identify, select and retain qualified people. Clients include retailers, restaurants, manufacturing firms, franchisors, professional service firms, colleges and technical schools.

Following the decision to diversify the company geographically, Wonderlic evaluated several cities in the southeast. “Charleston quickly rose to the top based on three primary factors: availability of a highly capable talent pool, demonstrated leadership in supporting knowledge-based companies, and the region’s outstanding livability,” stated CEO Charles F. Wonderlic, Jr. “As part of our expansion criteria, the availability of capable talent is paramount. We validated Charleston’s exceptional talent pool by running employment advertisements ahead of our decision, then using our online tools to assess the respondents,” he added.

Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr., welcomed Wonderlic’s addition to the roster of high-wage, knowledge-based companies in the City of Charleston. “Wonderlic’s decision to locate on Daniel Island, in the Digital Corridor’s Cainhoy District, further reinforces that Charleston’s professional community continues to experience job growth despite the current national economic climate.”

The expansion of Wonderlic was facilitated by the Charleston Digital Corridor. “The ability of our organization to connect Charlie Wonderlic with passionate, like-minded professionals in the Digital Corridor allowed him to experience the synergies of our knowledge based community first-hand,” said Digital Corridor Director, Ernest Andrade.

Wonderlic’s new offices are located on Daniel Island, which will serve as an incubator to build and market industry-specific services targeting vertical markets such as dental practices, law firms and restaurants.
