Vote on Your Favorite Business Idea Submitted to the New Ideas SC Contest

In early August, we told you about the call for entries for the New Ideas SC contest, and now the finalists need your vote to decide who will win the Wild Card slot. The Wild Card category includes ideas that didn’t fall into the other categories, like bioscience or engineering. Voting ends on Sunday, October 17 and one vote per email address.

Here are the Top 10 entries in the Wild Card category:

  • Coach Speak: Attachment for the headphones coaches use on the sidelines so the opposing team can’t read their lips.
  • He Kites: Kites with helium inside! Now every day can be a good day to go fly a kite. Low wind or no wind, you can still practice your moves.
  • PrecICED: Bakers Rejoice! This system allows you to precisely measure food coloring for fondant and icing to match RGB values. No more ‘the colors almost the same’; your cake or desert can be an EXACT match to whatever color you need.
  • ShoeHog: Get all the dirt off your shoes – not just what’s on the bottom. The ShoeHog cleans the tops and bottoms of your shoes too.
  • Slickerella: Watching the kids at a game in the rain? Now you can stay dry with this combination of an umbrella and slicker. Use the umbrella alone or roll down the slicker that’s attached and you can stay completely dry.
  • EZ Gown: Patented hospital gown that gives patients their dignity. IV line and MRI friendly (no steel snaps), this gown is easy to wear while still protecting your modesty.
  • Krispy Kritters: Eco-friendly, portable, battery operated remote controlled bug stun gun. Kill fire ants and bees without harming the environment.
  • Speedway Plays: Modeled after some of NASCAR’s best tracks, these play mats will allow your child’s wheels to race at Bristol, Dover, Talladega and more!
  • Fortune Stirs: Heat activated coffee stirrers that will show you a fortune cookie type message with every cup.
  • Buffalo Mozzarella: ‘Mozzarella Di Bufala’ is THE most notorious mozzarella cheeses in all of Italy. Best consumed within three days, it is almost impossible to find in the United States but available soon here in South Carolina. Buffalo mozzarella provides higher levels of protein, fat and minerals than cow’s milk and for many, a far superior taste.
