AM Conservation Group, Inc. relocates headquarters to the Charleston region

September 21, 2005 – AM Conservation Group, Inc., a leading supplier of weatherization, water and energy conservation products, relocated its corporate headquarters to the Charleston region. Their distribution facility will also relocate to the area in the spring of 2006. The company’s move from Hackettstown, NJ to space in Berkeley County’s Charleston Regional Business Center on the Cainhoy Peninsula was facilitated with the help of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.

Established in 1989, AM Conservation Group, Inc. develops, manufacturers and distributes professional grade products specifically for the conservation industry. Products include energy efficient lighting, insulation products, water saving showerheads, faucet aerators, and toilet tank devices. The company also offers water and energy saving kits, programs and promotional items. Utility companies, cities and municipalities currently comprise the majority of the company’s business.

In an effort to expand its business client base, AM Conservation recently launched its new website, www.amconservationgroup.com. Company officials say this website will enable home and business owners to also order professional grade products.

AM Conservation Group president, Paul Cutler, noted the region’s quality of life as instrumental in the company’s final relocation decision.

“When it came time to relocate our headquarters, it was very import that we maintain our core of talented employees,” said Cutler. “In order to do that, they needed to be involved in the competitive decision. After bringing our team for a tour of the region last winter, the decision was unanimous – the staff preferred the Charleston region.” The company also considered Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina.

AM Conservation Group currently employs nine in its corporate office, and expects to add 11 new positions. The Charleston facility will serve administrative, manufacturing and distribution functions. The company imports and exports both domestically and internationally. Company officials expect to begin the hiring process in early fall 2005, and express interest in securing local talent and working with local vendors and suppliers.
