October 1, 2005

October 10, 2005 – After considering locations in Jacksonville, FL and Charlotte, NC, American Cyber Logistics relocated from Long Island, NY, to North Charleston’s Pepperdam Industrial Park for its logistics operation. About 10 new jobs will be created, with an investment of approximately $3 million. Today’s announcement was facilitated by the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.

American Cyber Logistics offers logistics services and public warehouse space in its new 127,000-square-foot facility. Current customers include Standard Radio, with almost 300,000 line items, and Federal Connectors. The management team feels confident that their 50-plus years of experience will help the company improve customer service while reducing costs. Company officials state that approximately 65,000 square feet of temperature controlled and rack-equipped space remains available.

“We feel confident that the Charleston region’s healthy economy will continue to grow and we want to be part of it,” stated General Manager Bruce Cannon. “Plus, our group has been impressed by the persistence and professionalism of all the key players who made this relocation possible. We feel sincerely welcomed.”

Bill McCall, chairman of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, welcomed the news. “With this relocation, I have no doubt that American Cyber Logistics will find an excellent environment for future growth. We are pleased to have this company join our business community.”

“Our congratulations go out to American Cyber Logistics,” said Leon Stavrinakis, Chairman of Charleston County Council. “Once again Charleston finds itself at the center of a vital corporate supply chain, and we believe the company will be well pleased with their decision. Our productive work force, multi-modal transportation infrastructure and pro-business environment are a recipe for success. We are pleased to gain this fine company as our newest corporate citizen and partner.”

Keith Summey, Mayor of North Charleston, added: “We’re pleased and proud that American Cyber Logistics trusted our city as the place to invest for the future.”

In facilitating announcements such as today’s, the Alliance works with numerous public and private allies. Its relationship with the South Carolina Department of Commerce has been of particular importance through the years.

“We’re extremely pleased that American Cyber Logistics has chosen to move its warehouse logistics company to South Carolina,” said Commerce Secretary Bob Faith. “With the Port of Charleston, our rail and road systems, and our strategic location, this state is clearly an unbeatable choice for logistics and distribution operations.”
