Digital Lifestyle Outfitters and Advanced Bridging Technologies announced an alliance to deliver technically-advanced products to the iPod and portable electronics market. Products will be developed jointly and released under the DLO brand. The first of the partnership’s products will be announced this spring and will be available in all major DLO outlets.

Charleston-based DLO is participating in the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and the Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco.

ABT Inc, part of the Secure Wireless family of companies, is best known commercially for its iJet line of iPod RF Remote Controls that DLO Vice President Andrew Green called the “the best performing iPod remote ever released.”

“This partnership will allow ABT to focus on our product development expertise while leveraging DLO’s well established brand recognition and presence,” said Kevin Slatnick, president of ABT.

“This alliance combines the strength of both our companies in a way that will ultimately deliver the best products possible to our customers,” said DLO CEO Jeff Grady. “What’s most exciting to me is not what we’ve accomplished previously, but the future products we will develop together.”

ABT has developed more than 100 products, ranging from life safety devices to digital entertainment products, and holds multiple patents for its technology. Its secure wireless technology can be found in most major security brands worldwide.

DLO was a pioneer in developing accessories for the iPod. It produced the first iPod workout case that remains one of the best selling iPod accessories. DLO also invented and patented the TransPod “All-in-One car solution” for iPod, which was named accessory of the year for 2005 by CNET.

DLO also supplies MP3 player accessories, and this year was named the third fastest growing company in the country by Inc. magazine.
