eGroup, a Charleston-based technology solutions company, recently won a competitive bid for AgFirst Farm Credit Bank’s application hosting.

Columbia, S.C.-based AgFirst planned an application delivery system with a shorter lead time, heightened security and flexibility. eGroup proposed a solution using newly developed software and hardware from Citrix, Microsoft and Compaq.

The progressive solution, a leap forward in systems design and architecture, was key to the bank’s selection of eGroup as the winning recipient of all major phases of the bid. Bruce Jacky, AgFirst’s senior project manager, says the bank is confident they made the right investment. “eGroup proposed a system that exceeded our expectations—well worth our long-term investment,” says Jacky.

The 2,000-user, centrally hosted, web-based secure application delivery system for AgFirst will deliver a loan origination system and other applications electronically to the 24 lending institutions with which they are affiliated.
