ePracticeMed, a spin-off of a South Burlington, Vermont company, that was created to provide affordable and modern practice management software to healthcare professionals, has decided to locate their corporate headquarters in Charleston. The decision was based on “the strong healthcare and technology industries in the Charleston region,” says newly appointed President and COO, Gordon Jones.

ePracticeMed products and services include a Practice Management Software System that stores patient demographics, and medical histories and generates all electronic and paper transactions that ensure regulatory compliance and facilitates the billing process; and an Electronic Medical Record system that assists health professionals to easily manage patient’s medical information.

Gordon Jones, a Doctor of Health Administration, was formerly CEO and founder of Gordon Jones, DHA, LLC, providing healthcare technology consulting services internationally for 14 years. Prior to that position, Dr. Jones served as Regional Director for NDC / Health of Atlanta, GA, a leading international health information management company. He published original research on healthcare management and technology issues and is the creator of the “Staging Innovation in Healthcare” process. His doctoral research focused on the issue of eHealth Consumerism and the adoption of the Internet into the medical practice. Dr. Jones is an Adjunct Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina’s College of Health Professions.

“Dr. Jones is an excellent addition to our executive team. We will be able to leverage his many years of experience in the healthcare technology field as well as the relationships he has developed with the medical community in South Carolina and across the U.S.,” said Mr. Bernie Peatman, CEO.
