Force Protection named fastest-growing company

Force Protection Inc. was named the Charleston area’s fastest-growing company Thursday night at the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s annual Roaring 20 event.

Force Protection’s Buffalo and Cougar blast- and ballistics-protected vehicles are used to protect military troops from improvised explosive devices and roadside bombs. Combined, the vehicles have logged more than 1.6 million hours of combat operations since their initial deployment with U.S. and Allied forces in 2003, the company said.

Force Protection’s Roaring 20 recognition came as CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 highlighted the company on a segment called “On The Rise.” Earlier this month, Force Protection also entered the NASDAQ Capital Market.
