A federal program to get frequent international travelers who pose no security risks through U.S. airports faster has been expanding, and Charleston is one of the beneficiaries.
Until now, local residents wanting to interview for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Global Entry Program had to drive the roughly 200 miles to the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
Now they can do it in Charleston, if they meet the online application deadline and requirements.
