The National Association of Home Builders recently awarded The I’On Co. with a “Best in American Living Award” for 2001. I’On was honored with a Platinum Award for being the “Best Smart Growth Community” in the nation at the 2002 NAHB national convention in Atlanta, Ga.

“We are honored to be chosen,” said Vince Graham, founder and president of I’On. “This award demonstrates that we are making our vision a reality in creating a neighborhood that maintains the local community character, preserves green space, promotes a sense of community and efficiently serves residents and neighbors.”

Sponsored by Professional Builder magazine and the NAHB, the Best in American Living program showcases homes and neighborhoods that illustrate design quality and success in the marketplace. The 2001 panel of judges was comprised of builders, marketing experts, architects, land planners, developers, design professionals and a building publication editor.

I’On, located in Mount Pleasant, is a 243-acre development with 762 home sites.
