Mount Pleasant-based SailNet is the best sailing website on the Internet.

That’s according to Forbes’ “Best of the Web” magazine, which selected the local sailing retailer as the best sailing site for the second year in a row.

Forbes selects four top sites in more than 180 categories for the Best of the Web, and picks a “Forbes Favorite” in each one.

In making their selection, Forbes editors comb the Web for the most useful sites, looking for everything from stock picks to getting a mortgage. More than 3,500 sites are reviewed and judged according to five criteria: Content, design, speed, navigation and customization.

Of course, reflecting on the difficulties of the Internet, SailNet is one of the few companies remaining in business that were honored as last year’s top sailing sites.
