Charleston, S.C. — Navigational Sciences Inc., an international product and services company offering robust, secure wireless platform technology that enables cargo and asset tracking, sensing and communications, has been named one of the Lowcountry’s top “innovators,” as recognition of the company’s pioneering efforts in data communications.

At a July 13 reception and awards ceremony at the Dock Street Theatre, the Charleston Regional Business Journal honored its 2006 Innovators, a select group of companies that demonstrate forward-thinking vision and groundbreaking achievements. To be eligible, an individual or company must have created or introduced the product, service, program or process in S.C. and be based in S.C.

NavSci™’s innovations include the WARP 1.0TM device, which is the world’s smallest commercially available asset-tracking device. The device, which can be installed on powered vehicles or un-powered assets such as trailers, utilizes the GPS satellite system to track the location and condition of assets. It is capable of being “polled” at any time, giving the location and condition of an asset. With the ability to track the exact location and condition of a company’s assets at all times, decision makers are able to better make strategic assessments that directly impact and improve efficiency, safety, accountability and profitability.

“We are excited to be in the company of a great group of progressive and forward-thinking organizations in Charleston,” commented Eric Dobson, president and CEO of NavSci. “Being recognized for our emerging technologies and for creating solutions that address world-wide logistics and security issues is an honor for the NavSci team.”

Navigational Sciences Inc., founded in 2000 and based in Charleston, S.C., develops and delivers tracking and data communication systems capable of monitoring security where other technologies may fail. NavSci utilizes emerging technologies to customize data tracking and communications systems that overcome the physical and environmental barriers that may hamper reception and tracking of resources and information. The company specializes in tracking mobile assets, including hazardous materials, trucks, rail cars and overseas shipping containers. For more information, visit www.navsci.com.
