Profile Charleston and the S.C. Lowcountry

Few cities in America are better preserved than Charleston, a living museum of history. But unlike some museums where the atmosphere can feel stale, this city and the surrounding Lowcountry are bursting with cultural and economic vitality. A renaissance of sorts has taken hold that has been stimulated in part by an expanding seaport, resurging military presence and mushrooming population.
