Employees of Science Applications International Corp. and its wholly owned subsidiary Eagan, McAllister Associates Inc. are consolidating into a new 64,800 square foot office in North Charleston from locations throughout the greater Charleston area.

A ribbon cutting ceremony for the building at 5617 North Rhett Avenue is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today.

The facility will initially be home to approximately 275 employees from EMA and SAIC’s Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Information Technology Business Unit.

SAIC will occupy approximately 64,800 square feet of office, testing, integration and lab space. The building has three main conferences rooms, a large classroom and a number of team rooms.

SAIC/EMA personnel working at the facility represent a wide range of research, engineering and management capabilities, and provide a wide variety of technical, program management, systems engineering and integration support to the Department of Defense, the state of South Carolina and other customers.

“This is a great opportunity for SAIC to enhance our presence in the Charleston region and South Carolina. Our employees are proud of the contributions they make for our customers, and we look forward to continue to be an integral part of the local business community,” said Deborah James, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager.

SAIC is a FORTUNE 500 scientific, engineering and technology applications company involved in solving problems related to national security, energy and the environment, critical infrastructure and health.

The company’s approximately 44,000 employees serve customers in the Department of Defense, the intelligence community, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, other U.S. Government civil agencies and selected commercial markets.

SAIC had annual revenues of $8.9 billion for its fiscal year ended Jan. 31.
