SC Launch!, a collaborative enterprise of the South Carolina Research Authority, has introduced a partner program to support knowledge economy startup companies throughout South Carolina.

“One mission of SC Launch! is to identify, nurture and grow high-impact knowledge-based companies in South Carolina,” said Dave McNamara, SC Launch! director and senior vice president of operations of SCRA’s S.C. Public Interest Research Sector. “SC Launch! not only provides funding to companies in South Carolina that have this potential, but also collaborates with established organizations that are willing to help create an ecosystem of support for startups to maximize their likelihood of success.”

The partner program enrolls mature organizations that are willing to provide advice, mentoring, support and services to SC Launch! client companies on favorable terms.

Partners will receive early access to SC Launch!-supported emerging growth companies and will gain visibility through the SC Launch! Web site, networking and exhibit opportunities at entrepreneurial conferences and trade shows. In return, as young SC Launch!-supported companies strengthen and mature, the program will encourage them to continue to work with partners on a more engaged basis.

The SC Launch! Partner Program will focus initially on professional partnerships in three key service sectors: legal, financial services and accounting. Applications to participate in this part of the program must be submitted by Dec. 15, 2006. Partners in other sectors will be sought in early 2007.
