Tencarva Machinery triples size of South Carolina location

Tencarva Machinery Co. tripled the size of its Charleston, S.C., branch, after a relocation there.

The Greensboro, N.C.-based pumps, compressors and accessories distributor opened a new facility in Charleston which features 4,360 square feet of office space and a 2,900-square-foot warehouse and store area. It’s previous location in the Palmetto City had 1,750 square feet of combined office, warehouse and shop space.

“We were really overcrowded and needed more office space and a bigger pump shop. With the addition, we have been able to add a new equipment repairer, Philip McIntire. We are hoping to expand our pump repair business. And this additional space does give us extra warehouse space for inventory,” branch manager David Lee said.

Tencarva ranked 37th on INDUSTRIAL DISTRIBUTION’s 2008 Big 50 list of distributors, with 2007 sales of $150.7 million.
