Man v. Food Host

In a recent interview with The Star-Ledger in New Jersey, Adam Richman said that Charleston, SC (along with Austin, TX) was one of the most underrated food towns. Here in Charleston, we know that our culinary culture is top-notch and many local restaurants can hold their own when compared with restaurants in New York City, San Francisco and any other foodie town. We appreciate your love of Charleston Adam and letting the nation know that were are a great food city!

In another website feature on  the Travel Channel website, Adam made a list of his favorite restaurants around the country. His list contained 26 restaurants from east to west, and the only two South Carolina restaurants mentioned were in Charleston!

His list reads:

High Cotton, Charleston, SC

The flagship of the Maverick restaurant group. Ordinarily, any corporately owned place makes me cringe, but High Cotton gets it right — from decor to grits. Awesome.

Taco Boy, Charleston, SC

Taco Boy’s newest location in downtown Charleston (the other is on Folly Beach) still packs enormous flavor. Great drinks and a huge patio with both food and drink service — plus free fake tattoos!
