Taste of Greatness

Sean Brock's experiment in all things Southern earned his new Husk restaurant top billing from Bon Appetit.

It’s official: Charleston’s Husk Restaurant has been named number one new restaurant in the nation by Bon Appetit. Restaurants editor Andrew Knowlton (a frequent judge on Food Network’s Iron Chef) swooped into town a couple of times to savor Chef Sean Brock’s culinary point of view. Husk opened last Fall with a very Southern point of view, sourcing ingredients almost solely south of the Mason Dixon Line.

The ranking joins a growing list of national accolades for Charleston food. The buzz makes an economic impact. Charleston CVB chief Helen Hill told the Post and Courier that food has emerged as one of the top reasons people choose to visit the Holy City.
